International Gator Day
May 16, 2026
International Gator Day is an annual event when UF Alumni come together to help our Community by giving back in many different ways. This year, Marion County Gator Club worked on a beautification project at the Arnette House, which houses trouble children of different ages with assorted backgrounds and needs. Our tasks included repainting the main dining room area, chair railing on a hallway walls of bedrooms, as well as planting flowers and mulching outdoor areas. With the help of UF Alumni and some Lowe’s employee volunteers, we were able to complete our goal. Lowes also donated many of the supplies including mulch, paint, and paint supplies which helped us to complete the tasks while protecting the carpeting.
Many Thanks to Arnette House for allowing MCGC to help them and a huge Thanks to Ocala Lowe’s and Employees!
Another Great Gator International Day!

UFAA Giving Day
February 19, 2026
The Marion County Gator Club held a Giving Day gathering to thank those who donated on UFAA Giving Day at Bank Street Patio in Ocala, FL. MCGC also hosted author Franz Beard, along with Carlton Reese, for an exclusive Marion County sale and book signing of "The Golden Season."
We shared food, drinks, Giving Day swag, and enjoyed listening to Franz Beard speak about this season and last year's Championship season. It was an awesome Florida Gator Alumni Fellowship event. A big THANK YOU to all the Gators that donated and to those that came to enjoy this event.

2026 UFAA Leadership Conference
Another outstanding Leadership Conference in the books. Alumni board members learned about other clubs and activities around the country and made lasting friendships. They were also treated to another great tour of rarely available parts of campus. Steve Spurrier was even a speaker! Way to Go Alumni! Thank you to the UFAA Staff, Executive Director, Board and our amazing Regional VP’s.

UF Veterinary Hospital Tour
August 2, 2025
Marion County Gator Club visited the UF Veterinary Hospital in Ocala for a private tour of this new facility. We were met and welcomed by Kelly Sombers -UF Communications, then the Director Kelly Rick, who took us on a private tour. This facility has specialized equipment for working with horses that need surgery, rehab or just a regular check up. It also has a small animal clinic on the opposite side for your furry friends to get the care they need. This tour took us through all of the amazing and specialized equipment this facility has to offer.
After our tour, we went to Yellow Pony Pub & Garden where we shared great fellowship along with delicious food and drinks. This is just the beginning of Marion County Gator Club events and experiences.

International Gator Day
May 10, 2025
Marion County Gator Club gave back to our community for the annual International Gator Day. Such a great time collecting food donations in collaboration with the Post Office Annual Food Collections and Interfaith Ministries for their food bank and shelter. 17 large collection boxes of food and necessary needs like toothpaste, baby wipes and diapers, were filled and collected in the Food Bank Warehouse. Well done!
